We plan our reading lists for an entire year. Each January, we choose books for the year. Each member recommends books that he or she thinks the group would enjoy. We then vote on the recommendations, and the books that receive the most votes become the reading-list selections.
The group is diverse in its reading preferences yet democratic in the process of selecting books. Consequently, our reading selections are varied.
Over the years, we have gained some members, lost some members, and
gained additional
members. The group is small, and new members are always welcomed.
