Mission The mission of the Apex Street Bridge Historical Society is to promote neighbor relations, pride, safety and stabilization in the community of the bridge. It is an effort to get citizens who care about this special community together for joint efforts to preserve and improve the community, work for the betterment of the communities it joins, and to speak with a majority voice on community of the bridge issues. The purpose of this website is to tell the history of the bridge as it has occurred over time. One community, soon to be designated a historic neighborhood that surrounds a park; the other of which suffers from boarded up houses, rampant crime, and blight. The goal of the ASBHS is to bring both neighborhoods together and foster a unique place for pedestrians and bicyclists of all races to gather. The ASBHS is operated and governed by the FHNA in association with City, State, and Federal agencies that own and maintain the trails and structure of the bridge. |
