Bridge Enhancement Project (BEP)
Our bridge enhancement project stems from the closing of the Apex Street Bridge to vehicles due to deteriation. In the mean time, we have lived with the dull and lifeless strip of asphalt for 3+ years. Since the bridge will be replaced with a new bridge in a couple of years, our work is just a temporary spruce-up for this historical structure. Everything we add to the surface of this existing bridge will be reused in the new bridge so nothing will be wasted. The areas leading to the bridge will not substantially change with the new bridge and work in these areas started the week of 8-9-04 with a large cleanup of weeds and tree debris.
